Photography of Seattle's Downtown Emergency Services Center's (DESC) Adoption Day for Burbridge Place, the latest (at the time) in dozens of housing developments that DESC has erected for individuals experiencing homelessness.
During this event, volunteers and donors offered their time to visit the new apartment complex to add the final furnishings for each unit (i.e. making the beds, setting up the bathrooms, installing microwaves, organizing the dishes and cutlery, etc). They also created colorful greeting cards for the future tenants.
I have been a donor and volunteer photographer for DESC since March 2021. The work this organization has done to reduce and eliminate homelessness for nearly 50 years has been remarkable. DESC continues to remain steadfast and dedicated to fulfilling its objectives.
I always feel honored whenever DESC employees contact me about any upcoming events they would like to capture for their publications.
