Charlotte, by population, is the largest city in the state of North Carolina and, at the time of creating this gallery, the 15th largest city in the United States. This city continues to experience a healthy economic growth which has also caused its steadily increasing population over the years, thus attracting transplants from all over the country.
Charlotte's nickname is "The Queen City" as it is the namesake of Queen Charlotte of Great Britain and Ireland. Mecklenburg, the county of which Charlotte is the seat of government, is also named after the surname of Queen Charlotte, who was of German ancestry before marrying King George III of the British royal family in the 18th century. Most geographical locations around the world with the name "Charlotte" or "Mecklenburg" are named after Queen Charlotte.
Charlotte is the second city to appear in TIA's official portfolio as a result of my sister being a resident, which provided TIA the opportunity to visit. A few years ago, she was a resident of Accra. (Thanks, T2).
