BOISE, IDAHO

Welcome to Boise, the capital city of Idaho, whose name is not pronounced the way you might think it's pronounced!

In French, the term "bois" means "wood" in English, as one would say "in the woods" or "in the forest."  
Alternatively, "bois" also references an item that is manufactured from wood.  Alas, it's not a coincidence that Boise's official moniker is "The City of Trees".

Interestingly, Boise's population is roughly 230,000, and ranks as the 99th largest city in the United States by population.
